There is an extra meeting scheduled for both Leathercraft and Cloverbuds on Tuesday, May 1. This is an additional meeting outside of the usual on the third Monday of the month. If planning to attend, please RSVP to Cindy at email@example.com or 970-481-7993.
On Saturday, May 5, the Big Thompson Bowhunters will be tearing down all target butts, replacing the bales, and rebuilding with new banding and wire. They will also complete general clean-up around the range.
This is a great opportunity for community service time to help improve our local archery range.
Work will begin at 8:00 a.m., and should finish up around 12:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided and you can bring your bow and shoot after the work is done as well!
4-H has been allowed the ability to use the Lon Hagler Archery Range at no cost to 4-H, and in return we help with their range work day. Cindy will be gathering some paint so we may be able to paint more of the benches. The Big Thompson Bowhunters has also installed a sandbox right behind the sight-in target range, so if you have any sandbox type toys you would like to donate I am sure it would be appreciated.
Carmen Johnson Award applications are due soon. This is a great opportunity to receive funding from $25–$300 to put toward project expenses which may include shooting equipment, feed, livestock animals, project materials, etc.
The guidelines and application are available to download here.
The deadline for applications to be postmarked is April 26, 2018, and they must be in hand to Jane A. Larsen by May 1, 2018.
The High Country Handiworkers 4-H club was chartered in 1980 and is located in Larimer County, Colorado.
