Join Us for the 4-H Carnival
Purchase $1 tickets from 4-H members now to be entered in the drawing for cash prizes. Each ticket can also be redeemed for two booth tickets the day of the carnival.
Booth tickets will be sold the day of the carnival for 25¢ each.
The High Country Handiworkers will be hosting five booths including Toilet Paper Toss, Lollipop Pull, Lockbox, Iron Man Challenge, and Rubberband Guns. We will also be donating three baskets (Colorado Sports, Camping, Dog Care) for the live auction held at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
All proceeds benefit 4-H programs in Larimer County.
Well, the 4-H year is coming to a close. We will have our annual club picnic at Fairgrounds Park on September 10 at 6:00 p.m. The club will furnish the main dish, drinks, and paper products. Please bring a side and/or a dessert for at least 10 people to share. Remember, there is road construction on Railroad Avenue so come into the park from First Street.
Archery Fun Shoot
Tomorrow, September 1, is the Archery Fun Shoot. We will be having fun! Anita and Cindy are handling the details. We hope you can join us at McKee Building. You DO NOT have to be enrolled in the Archery discipline to join us. Any 4-H member can come and try to shoot, but you must be accompanied by an adult and waivers must be signed. It is from 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. with lunch somewhere around 12:00 in the McKee Building. Please RSVP via this SignUpGenius.
Pick Up State Fair Projects
Next Wednesday, September 5, all projects that went to state fair MUST be picked up between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. from the Exhibit Hall of the McKee Building.
Livestock Record Books
Livestock record books are due on September 14. This includes dog and cat. Be sure to complete separate record books for each species (not required but a best practice). Market and Breeding can be in the same book. Also be sure to label the species on the outside of the book for easy sorting to go to the appropriate judge. Cindy will review books and sign off on them at the picnic, or you can bring them to her office before September 14 and she will take them to Fort Collins.
Ag Day Truck Raffle
Save the date of September 22 from 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. to sell truck raffle tickets at the CSU Ag Day game. This is also the date the winner will be selected. Cindy is still waiting to hear from CSU that we will be allowed to sell. She’ll let everyone know as soon as she hears. Our club appears to be down about 200 tickets compared to last year, so maybe try to sell some to friends.
The September Clover Connections is out with information to wrap up this 4-H year.

Good luck to all of the livestock exhibitors at the Colorado State Fair.
