The meeting was called to order on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 7:03 p.m. by President Brooke Carlson.
Pledges were led by Josh Ryan and Tyler Rhoades.
Roll call was taken by Lacey Adams.
A motion was made to approve the secretary’s report as presented on the club website. Seconded and approved.
Treasurer’s report was presented by Nate Rogers:
The sunshine report was given by Cael Claude. We had seven birthdays in April.
Junior Leader Lacey Adams presented the cloverbud report along with the cloverbuds. They learned about rabbits with club members Ashley Johnson, and Devon and Haley McNear showing their rabbits. Then they played rabbit bingo.
New leaders have joined the club or added new certifications: Jared Caffey (Shooting Sports/Shotgun), Jerry Clausen (Shooting Sports/Muzzleloading), Lanna Kroger (Cloverbuds) and Matt Kroger (Rabbits), and Rex Rogers (Shooting Sports/Pistol)
Laurel Kubin, the director of the Extension Office, will be retiring this year.
Larimer County will be purchasing an Orion system for scoring at county shoot events.
Carnival — A discussion was held about what went well and what needs improvement. The date will be moved earlier in March to avoid spring breaks. A motion was made to take the excess $300 that was donated from the community at King Soopers and to contribute it to the Larimer County 4-H Foundation, to be divided between shooting sports and poultry. The motion was seconded and approved. Top ticket sellers in our club were Nate Rogers (150), Curtis Buckardt (189), Walker Cameron (200), Jessica McBroome (225), Audra Scott (433). Our club pre-sold 3,280 tickets. Basket sales were as follows: Campout $232.50, Baking $55.00 and $45.00, and Patriotic $115.00. Our booths brought in a total of 4,277 tickets split as follows: Lockbox 393, Lollipop pull 393, Golf 829, Rubberband guns 975, TP toss 1,750.
Hunter’s safety — Several members participated and received their hunter's safety cards.
Club shirts — Should arrive this Wednesday and Thursday
Field Trips — Ward’s Dioramas on April 29 at 4:00 p.m. and Pizza Hut in Berthoud on April 23 at 2:00 p.m. (RSVP to Trista Claude).
Community service projects — Lon Hagler on May 6 at 8:00 a.m. Rex and Nate Rogers to be in charge of getting materials for the picnic tables on site to be repaired and painted. Golf Tournament at Pelican Lakes in Windsor to support the Colorado State 4-H Foundation to be held on June 2. Two shifts (7:30–11:30 a.m. and 1:30–5:30 p.m. Please use SignUpGenius on the club website to volunteer.
Truck raffle — Ticket sales will be Friday–Sunday of fair weekend.
Fiber Fun Fest —May 13 from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Need t-shirts cut for our hula hoop workshop and volunteers to help with instructing the classes.
Demonstrations were presented by Hailey McNear on dogs, Bella Kendrot on dogs, Doug Porter on using spent ammo to make a tank (shooting sports), and Scotty Bowen on rocketry.
