The meeting of the High Country Handiworkers was called to order on February 13, 2017 at 7:03 pm by President Brooke Carlson in the McKee Building.
The pledge leaders were Bella Kendrot and Hannah Godfrey. Roll call was taken. Hannah Godfrey moved to approve the secretary’s report from the previous meeting as posted on the website.
The treasurer’s report as given by Nate Rogers. Savings account = $1,420.60, checking account = $1,988.87.
The Cloverbud report was given by Lacey Adams, the Cloverbuds leader, and the Cloverbud members. At their meeting, they had a guest speaker talking about the stock show and played stock show bingo.
Club website (www.hch4h.org) — Keep up on reports, photos, events, etc.
Order club shirts — The club covers the cost of one t-shirt per member/leader in the club. The order form for shirts/jackets/pullovers was passed around during the meeting.
MQA testing — Ask Cindy for information on whether attendance is necessary to complete the testing for this year.
Carnival baskets — A committee was formed to create the baskets under the leadership of Sheila Durnil.
Carnival booths — TP Toss has been voted to require 3 tickets to play. Rubberband Shoot has been voted to require 2 tickets to play. Lollipop Pull has been voted to require 1 ticket to play. Mini Golf has been voted to require 3 tickets to play. Mini golf committee members: Hannah, Hailey, Joseph, Audra, Olivia, Paige, Josh, and the adult supervisor will be Anita. Volunteers to make new carnival posters are: Golf poster by Mackinzie Porter and TP Toss poster by Bella Kendrot.
Carnival tickets — Carnival tickets were passed out to each member. Members are encouraged to sell 25 tickets each.
NRA Banquet — Hannah Godfrey made a motion to cover 50% of the expense or $25 for each of the club’s shooting sports leaders to attend the NRA Banquet in March. Seconded and Approved.
Fair Awards — Lorelai Durnil moved to donate $375 to support 4-H awards at the county fair. Seconded and Passed.
Youth Fest — A report was given by Lorelai Durnil.
Leadership Development Congress — Lacey Adams reported on the weekend.
Meeting date change – The next meeting will take place on March 6 at 7:00 pm. This date change is due to spring break.
Demonstrations were presented by Brooke Carlson on caring for a goat, Nate Rogers on how tooling leather is made, and Lorelai Durnil on teamwork (leadership).
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Scotty Bowen. Seconded and Approved. The meeting was adjourned at 8:29 pm.
