The meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m. on May 8, 2017 by President Brooke Carlson in the McKee Building.
Members were asked to volunteer as pledge leaders and the volunteers for the night were Cora Cox and Paige Anderson.
Roll call was taken by leader Cindy Buckardt.
The secretary’s report from the April meeting had not been completed and were not approved.
The treasurer’s report was given with $1,928.24 in the checking account and $1,077.10 in the savings account.
The sunshine report presented all of the May birthdays.
Lacey Adams, Cloverbud Junior Leader brought the cloverbuds up to the front of the room for the cloverbud report. The group made wind chimes to learn about weather and did an experiment with water and shaving cream to illustrate rain.
Leader’s report was given by club leader Cindy Buckardt reminding club members of the 4-H dress code.
Community Service — Cindy reminded the club of the upcoming Lon Hagler cleanup and the Golf Tournament supporting the state 4-H Foundation.
Club shirts — Came in and were distributed.
Bowling field trip — The club voted on going bowling at Sweetheart Lanes on June 10 at 4:00 p.m. There will be a SignUpGenius on the club website for those wishing to participate. The cost is $8 per person and the club will cover the club members, Cloverbuds, and the leaders. Other friends and family will have to cover the $8 fee.
Fiber Fun Fest — The club is hosting two workshops on May 13 at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The workshop is on recycling t-shirts and weaving them around hula hoops.
eRecord Books — Members were asked about questions regarding e-records and reminded there is a link on the club website to find them.
Livestock news — The livestock sale committee voted to allow all market goats the opportunity to sell at the sale provided the goats meet the criteria. Reminder about MQA/PQA being offered May 19 for those still needing to take it. They MUST arrive by 6:30 p.m.
Parade — A brief discussion was held regarding the parade. The theme is “Uniquely Larimer County.” Looking for parents to volunteer to coordinate a committee to come up with a design.
King Soopers cards — Reminder that the Larimer County 4-H Foundation is selling King Soopers cards as an ongoing fundraiser to support 4-H activities.
Demonstrations were given by Malia Dungan and Nathan Meiners on the dance team and country dance steps, Cora Cox on how to halter your lamb, and Justin Grundy on how to set up a rabbit for show.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 p.m, seconded and approved.
The next meeting will take place on June 12, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
