November 2016 Meeting Minutes

​High Country Handiworkers meeting for the month of November was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by the President, Walker Cameron, on November 14. The meeting was held in its usual location in the meeting rooms of the McKee building. The pledges were led by Doug Porter and Lorelai Durnil for leadership credit. Minutes from the October meeting were read by the secretary and approved as read. They are also posted on the club website. Roll call was answered with “What is your favorite color?” There were 42 members in attendance, many parents there for support, as well as several guests. The Treasurer’s Report shows $1,307.25 in the club savings account. 

Sunshine Report
Three November birthdays in our club.
A member of the rodeo committee lost his wife earlier in November a card was signed by club members
Bob Coats, a parent of some club members, was in a car accident and will be out of work for several months. A card was signed and will be sent.

The Cloverbuds made spiders out of paper plates at their last meeting, and talked about safety on Halloween night. Lacey Adams and Mike Adams took the Cloverbud Leader training. 

Old Business was discussed. The club website is completed and running. This is where club information will be posted as well as the club minutes. Cindy’s email is also available on the website for questions.

New business was discussed.
The club purchased a new gavel and a new set of flags based on the discussion held in the September meeting.  Grace Claude made the motion to review the t-shirts online and vote at the next meeting. The motion was seconded by Lacey Adams and approved by the club members.

Leader Reports
Several of our leaders were recognized for their long-time commitment to working with 4-H kids.

Meeting Calendar
Stanley Rhoades moved to have the club wrap presents and eat cookies at the December meeting. The motion was approved by the club. The FAFLC Christmas part. this is considered community service for record books. Elections for club officers will be held during the December meeting.

Demonstrations
Walker Cameron gave a demonstration for Shooting Sports (Outdoor Skills). Jacob Grudle gave a demonstration for Shooting Sports (Shotgun).

Adjournment of the meeting was at  8:19pm. The motion was made by Grace Claude with unanimous approval from the club. The next meeting will be December 12, 2016 in the Exhibit Hall of the McKee building.
